Please note: Because our tama are made from solid hard maple, the natural variation in the wood means these tama may weigh approximately 40–45 grams. This small variation will not affect your braid.
Our large tama are 25% larger than our standard tama (see photo), providing additional capacity for thick yarns, ribbons, or longer lengths of material while maintaining the same nominal weight.
Our tama are based on the shape of traditional Japanese tama. They hold a generous amount of thread and are shaped so they don't easily catch on one another. Made from hard maple, they are polished to a fine finish, sealed at both ends, and lightly coated with wax.
Choose tama weight and size according to the braid and the materials being used. Our large tama are also available in 70, 85, and 100-gram weights.
