BraidersHand has been a trusted maker of Japanese‑style braiding equipment since 2001. Founded in California and relocated to Washington in 2005, BraidersHand has served customers worldwide for 25 years. Beginning in early May 2026, BraidersHand will transition to new ownership in Oregon, where the same dedication to craftsmanship and customer service will continue.
To all our customers, near and far, thank you for your support and for being part of our kumihimo community.

We are Jim and Deb, and we’re honored to be the new owners of BraidersHand. We’ve always enjoyed making things from thread, and that same appreciation for craftsmanship carries into the handmade wooden tools Jim creates for braiding.
It’s a privilege to carry forward the traditions established by Dave and Janis, whose dedication shaped this business. We’re committed to honoring that legacy while thoughtfully continuing to grow and refine what we offer.
We’re grateful to be part of this community and want to create tools that are beautiful, functional and built to last. Each piece reflects our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and the tradition behind the craft. We hope you’ll join us on this journey.
