Six-pin moveable koma hold the threads for braiding until they are cast through the shed and placed in a koma near the braider. When the koma at the far end of the takadai become empty they are placed in the groove at the front of the takadai nearest the braider. When the next tama is cast through the shed the threads are placed on this koma and braiding continues. Koma are made of the same hard maple that we use for all of our equipment.
