Kumihimo: Japanese Braiding
by Catherine Martin

BraidersHand has a limited number of new copies of Catherine Martin's book, which has long been out of print, and is pleased to offer them at a special price.

Catherine Martin studied at the Domyo School in Japan and was the first non-Japanese graduate of its braiding program. Her book introduces the history of kumihimo, the traditional tools of the craft, and the techniques for creating round, square, and flat braids.

Instruction includes twelve braiding structures, preparing the yarns, setting up the Marudai, and working with Tama and a counterweight. This informative and inspiring book is an excellent addition to any braider's library.
