Our kumihimo plate is the Hamanaka Plate created by Makiko Tada and made in Japan. The material is 3/8" (1cm) thick dense foam which holds the threads/yarns securely, keeping consistent tension for even, beautiful braids. Makiko Tada has developed some very contemporary braids for this piece of equipment. Free instructions will be emailed to you after purchase.
